Standard model
Particle physics
In particle physics, particles have spin, charge, mass and some characteristics. Based on spin, particle can be classified as bosons and fermions. If one has integer spin, called boson, like photon and gluon. If one has half-integer spin, called fermion, like electron and quarks. By the way, quarks carry "color change" in QCD, and there are six "flavours" of quarks and leptons respectively.
Moreover, hadrons including baryons and mesons. Interestingly, physicists tried classifying them by charge and spin, its connected with group theory, which is an abstract algebra of mathematics used to study for symmetry. This is the important thing we will discuss later.
Since particle physics experiment needs high energy, it's also called "high energy physics".

Standard model (SM)
Standard model is a theory including electromagnetic
interaction, strong interaction and weak interaction as well as all the elementary particles:
interaction, strong interaction and weak interaction as well as all the elementary particles:
The theory of standard model is QFT, the corresponding mathematical theory called "gauge theory ". We will discuss them in next section.
